Round Table Discussion
Built with strong value systems and inimitable passion, family businesses face unique growth and succession challenges as the baton passes from one generation to the next. One of the biggest hurdles for families is to understand how to strike the right balance between preserving family values while bringing in partners and investors for future growth. This conclave seeks to address some of these unique challenges through an interesting line up of experts that promise an engaging discussion.

The FaB Conclave which will focus on issues of importance to many family businesses has the potential to become an excellent platform for top business minds to share their experiences with the family business community. It provides a unique opportunity to connect alumni and other family business members with investors, advisors, business leaders and top practitioners. The theme of Fund Raising in Family Businesses is very relevant at a time when traditional businesses are competing with heavily funded startups and need to professionalise and pump in growth capital to build their companies into formidable organisations of the future. I wish the Conclave every success.

Family businesses are critical to India’s growth story and key contributors to its economic development. ISB’s global vision with its deep roots in India’s corporate environment provide the right context to focus on the growth challenges unique to this business demographic. The Family Business Conclave being organised by the ISB FaB Network, is an attempt to share insights on how to build these family businesses into sustainable and investible corporations of the future. I am excited to lead this group of alumni as their Conclave Mentor and look forward to the day’s discussions.
